I'm home, after having travelled far and wide. I left when I was young, and now my hair has turned white. Though my speech has not changed, the children I meet don't know me and asked where I have come from - a stranger back in his homeland.

The moon hangs low in the sky and frost fills the air. The scene is beautiful but brings no solace to the lonely traveller, who, unable to sleep, listens to the chiming of midnight from the monastery bell.
