Book Voyages is a podcast about children's literature. It includes book reviews and interviews with authors and students about the books they've written or are reading. It's hosted by Art Spencer, an elementary school library media and technology specialist.

In Episode 22 I announce a new book give away, I comment on an NPR article about newspapers cutting book reviewers, I discuss the Harry Potter phenomena, and I review The Ultimate Unauthorized Eragon Guide by Lois Gresh, M is for Magic by Neil Gaiman, Tales from Grimm and More Tales from Grimm by Wanda Gag.
In episode 21, I interview children's author and audio book producer Bruce Coville.
Episode 20, recorded in March of 2006, features the Book Launch for the Young Adult novel The Geography of Girlhood by Kirsten Smith.
Episode Nineteen features the drawing for a copy of Julie of the Wolves as well as reviews of White is for Blueberry by George Shannon and Heartbeat by Sharon Creech.
Episode 18 features a new contest for a copy of Julie of the Wolves, some ideas to encourage summer reading, and reviews of Wolf Brother by Michelle Paver and Eager by Helen Fox.
Episode Seventeen features news about the podcast, news from the web, and reviews of How to Talk to Your Dog and How to Talk to Your Cat by Jean Craighead George, and Matilda by Roald Dahl.
Episode 16 was recorded live at the book launch party of The Patch and Nothing But the Truth (and a Few White Lies) by Justina Chen Headley.
Episode 15 features reviews of The Hiccupotamus by Aaron Zenz and Chasing Vermeer by Blue Balliet.
This episode features an interview with Patrick Carman, author of The Land of Elyon books including The Dark Hills Divide, Beyond the Valley of Thorns, and the upcoming The Tenth City. Also, I've extended the deadline for entries in the Mystery Book Contest.
In episode 13 I give new clues to the Mystery Book, I talk about the International Chinldren's Digital Library and the Storynory podcast, and I review Fancy Nancy by Jane O'Connor and The The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCamillo.
In episode 12 I start a new Mystery Book contest, mention the Newbery and Caldecott winners, interview a student about books she is reading (Horton Hatches an Egg and Nim's Island), and review Small Steps by Lewis Sachar and The Year of the Dog by Grace Lin.
In episode 11, I announce the winner of the Mystery Book contest, I talk about Pooh news including a 100 Acre Wood personality test and Disney's changes to the franchise, and I review Great Wolf and the Good Woodsman and The Dark Hills Divide, Book 1 of The Land of Elyon.
In episode 10, I mention the School Library Journal's Best of 2005 List, an article on the goals of the company behind the Narnia movie, new US Postal stamps featuring animals from children's literature, and a British study with some insights on poorer students reading habits. I review Runny Babbit: A Billy Sook by Shel Silverstein, Pacific Northwest Ballet Presents: Nutcracker, and Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert. Episode 8 features best books of the year lists for 2005 from Publisher's Weekly, Kirkus Reviews, and Planet Esme, as well as reviews of The Recess Queenby Alexis O'Neill and Indigo's Starby Hilary McKay.
Episode 7 features news about the Robert's Snow book and Auction, as well as a review of Eldest and a description my trip to get my copy of Eragon and Eldest autographed with my nephew. Also, the next clue to the Mystery Book.
In the sixth episode, I discuss two other podcasts, Teen Libarian and The SG Show. I discuss some changes to Book Voyages, including moving to a weekly format, renaming the episode titles for iTunes users, and prizes with the Mytery Books. Finally, I review a few books.
In episode five I interview author and illustrator Jarrett Krosoczka, who has written six picture books: Annie Was Warned, Baghead, Bubble Bath Pirates, Good Night Monkey Boy, Max for President, and Punk Farm. Visi his web site at http:www.studiojjk.com.
In episode four I interview author Peg Kehret, who has written 44 children's books including Shelter Dogs, Small Steps, Spy Cat, Abduction, Cages, and many more. I do a short sound seeing of her house and introduce a new mystery book.
In the third episode I introduce myself, talk about upcoming shows, and interview a fifth grade student about the books he is reading. I also reveal the last Mystery Voyages and give a new one as well as discuss the article Pirating Potter: The Economics of Book Counterfeiting.
